CDL Candles is a new start-up that was looking for a unique and professional image to go forward with right from the start.  The company makes candles by custom order, allowing the customer to customize their candles to their own tastes.

The website as a start, is small and intimate, with plenty of room to grow as does their business.  The design again incorporating Victorian swirls and lines to co-oridinate with the logo.  The primary black and white color scheme with deep red accents allows for brightly colored photos without having the comptetion of the site design to distract from the products themselves.

The windows in the banner represent the warmth, coziness and feeling of home that a candle-lit room can inspire.

Logo

The design for CDL Candles stemmed from a very traditional and elegant look and feel. As their products are hand-crafted and of exceptional quality, this had to be conveyed through their marketing materials also, and their forms, logo, and literature could not look "home-made" also. The almost Victorian theme and simple elegance of a primarily black and white color scheme is remeniscent of the days in which old-fashioned craftsmanship were common, not a rarity.

Print

We started out with creating a traditional brand identity by designing a logo, from which we could design a business card, an order form and a brochure. In the future, an e-commerce enabled web site will be added to sell their products online.

The brochure uses straight black text with the exception of the section headings, which are in the deep red color that is in the oval frame of the logo. The pictures of the candles themselves contain all of the color and are what we want to draw the viewer's attention. Forms

The jar candle order form for CDL Candles needed a great deal of flexibility as the candles are completely customizable. The customer has the option to order each candle in their choice of size, color and scent.

The design for CDL Candles stemmed from a very traditional and elegant look and feel. The almost Victorian theme and simple elegance of a primarily black and white color scheme is reminiscent of the days in which old-fashioned craftsmanship were common, not a rarity.

We started with a logo, which ended up being old-fashioned and almost Victorian, giving the essence of old-fashioned quality and craftsmanship that goes into each one of their products. From there we went into creating the print materials - business card, an order form and a brochure - to further enhance their professionalism and dedication to quality.

This project was a full identity branding package, and included along with the logo and the website, a business card, flyer and brochure design as well as a print and electronic order form in Acrobat PDF. CDL Candles is no longer available.
