Camp Run-A-Pup

The project for Camp Run-A-Pup was a great experience, as this was a full identity branding package, including a logo, web site design and development, and business card and brochure design. Along with this, the difference was i n the style of the project, which was definitely outside of my usual box! It was however, a ton of fun, and I think it turned out great. The client however, is extremely happy with it, and that is what matters most, as it was exactly what she was looking for.

The logo started out from an original sketch provided by the husband of the client, which was then scanned and digitized and worked into the current logo. From there, the design for the web site came together, and we ended up with a coordinated package that uniquely brands Camp Run-A-Pup, a "Bed and Biscuit Inn"!

We continue to provide web site maintenance services for Camp Run-A-Pup. Please feel free to visit CampRunAPup.com.

Camp Run-A-Pup

Camp Run-A-Pup, a camp, home away from home for pets in Chicago, came to us for a logo and web site design package. When discussing the possibilities for the logo, it was decided that the owner's husband, who is an artist, would do a sketch to be used as the centerpiece for the logo design. Taking the sketch, which is the dogs on the picnic table, we scanned it to a digitized image into Illustrator, making it a vector illustration and smoothed it out. From there it was a matter of playing with color, shapes and fonts until we had a look that we liked.

The circular logo is reminiscent of a camp badge, going along with the "campy" feel of the business, and the log font is perfect to set this feeling off well.

Camp Run-A-Pup, a camp, home away from home for pets in Chicago, came to us for a logo and web site design package. After the logo was designed, we went ahead and designed a business card for the owner. The card remains simple, with the payful font that will be found on the website and literature. We also arranged printing and delivery of the cards to the owner.

The brochure for Camp Run-A-Pup incorporates the same wooden red border around the edges that is on the website, as well as the iron sign post holding the logo and some of the graphics, coordinating well with the site to give Camp Run-A-Pup a branded identity that is easily recognizable and remembered. Case Study

Camp Run-A-Pup was a fun project, and was a little outside of my usual experience to date. Camp Run-A-Pup is a dog day care in Chicago, Illinois, that is not your usual kennel. The pets are treated like pets, and the place is really run like a camp for dogs!

The owner's husband hand sketched the dogs sitting on the picnic table for the logo, and sent the sketch to me via snail-mail. From this sketch, I scanned the image and digitized it, bringing it into a vector format where it could be worked with, and worked with it we did until we had a logo. From there, the website design came along. What made this project unique in my experience, is that the owner did not want a "professional and business/corporate" look for her site. She wanted it to be fun and cartoonish, while still looking like it was done professionally. I think that we accomplished that look and feel, giving her a site that is functional, meets the efficiency and usability standards that a professional web site requires, while still having a fun look and feel!
